Our beloved Folly, suffering from congestive
heart failure, has departed and gone to a better place.
Her frail and damaged heart beat its last at about 3:07pm
April 17...., our hearts are broken.
Folly was an integral part of our daily
lives for almost twelve years. It's amazing, she was our
morning alarm clock (and no, she didn't give us a break
on the weekends), our newspaper fetcher (even when the
heavy Sunday paper was a struggle, she was not to be defeated),
she let us know when it was dinner time and celebrated
the sound of the charcoal bag when we barbecued. She kept
the rabbits and lizards running and had that special bark
to warn us of SNAKE! Folly's favorite toys were her stuffed
squirrel (she picked it out herself shopping at Petco)
and toilet paper tubes (that we stuffed with goodies).
She was our "welcome waggin' " whenever we arrived
home. Surely one of her great pleasures in life was a
ride in the convertible, which we took every Sunday afternoon.
Her gifts to us were unconditional love,
companionship, trust, innocence,
and joy. She will
be with us always, and we will miss her terribly.
Here's a small collection of moments across
the years.
