to the redwoods with Kids & Grandkids!

A
beautiful drive up the coast, except for Los Angeles of
course, with Cassidy to Cambria -- our favorite stop-over
on the way north -- and the Cambria Shores Inn. Arrive
just in time to watch the sunset with a friendly local
vintage red. Next day, back to 101 for the dash north
through Gilroy, San Jose, San Francisco and Santa Rosa,
then west to the old logging town of Cazadero where Patricia's
family has a five-bedroom cabin -- some cabin! -- in the
redwoods. Two days of catching up, hiking, grandkidding
and general fun followed before we had to "break
camp" and start home. Returned to Cambria for another
relaxing evening with dinner in from the local general
store and a long walk along the coastal bluffs. Headed
east on the last day to avoid another drive through west
LA and snuck down across the Grapevine to I-15 and the
home stretch to Ramona.
